The Boat

Meercat is a brand-new Fountaine Pajot Orana catamaran. We spent almost a year researching vessels from Brazil to Fort Lauderdale, via Singapore, Thailand, the Caribbean and Europe, to find the perfect boat for Zenith Ocean Voyages. After our trip around the world (well, almost…) we decided to have our boat custom-built from the drawing board.

Meercat is it. Welcome aboard!

The Zenith Ocean Voyages cruising model is built around style, comfort and exclusivity. There’ll be no more than six guests on board at a time. Also, because we’d like our boat to have a break between trips, we’ll only be running a limited number of voyages per year.

Meercat – the ideal kite-friendly vessel

Our boat was built in accordance with the specific needs of Zenith Ocean Voyages. With her low draft she can take you to hidden lagoons that cannot be reached by traditional monohull sailboats. She’s easy to board, with lots of room on deck and inside. She’s cool and airy, with independent ventilation systems throughout.  The electrical systems were expressly designed to cope with the needs of tropical voyaging. We have a powerful 9kw generator to supply 220v and an oversized bank of house batteries to store the charge. Thanks to our water maker, which converts sea water into fresh drinking water at 180 l an hour, we can spend continuous time off shore without the need to make landfall. More time to kite!!!

Living the life – Zenith-style

You’ll be staying in one of three spacious double cabins, all with an ensuite bathroom and shower as well as ample storage space. Children under 14 can be accommodated in the saloon.

No worries – you won’t have to sleep with your kites and boards (unless you want to of course) – there’s a storage area the size of a full single cabin reserved just for your gear to have its much-deserved rest.

The large cockpit and saloon is where you’ll be chillin’ whenever you’re not kiting – unless you want to lie on deck or the trampoline to work on that tan beyond the board shorts and harness lines. You’ll be able to access the Web on your laptop thanks to our WIFI booster antenna. Freshly prepared, delicious food, barbecues, cold beers, good music and great times await you.
