-How do I book one of your trips? We’ve simplified things and removed the bookings page. Just go to the contact page and let us know which trip you’re interested in. We’ll respond very shortly by email and give you more information.
- How good to I have to be at kiteboarding to do a trip with Zenith Ocean Voyages? In short, pretty good! You should be able to consistently ride up wind and water relaunch, IKO level 3. If in doubt, please write to us first before booking.
- I’ve seen that you have Naish gear onboard. Can I leave my gear at home? We have 5 kites and 2 boards which are free for you to use. Check out the Gear & Kit page for more details. The gear will be sampled by all guests on a rotational basis, but if you are our first booked cabin for the trip, you will have precedence and can therefore can leave your stuff at home if you’d like.
- If I want to bring my own kites, what kite quiver should I bring? The average wind strength will be 15-25 knots. We’ll send you more detailed info – and let you know whether or not you can trust the forecasts – once you’ve chosen your specific trip.
- What should I pack? Use a soft bag or backpack/rucksack. Definitely bring swimwear, board shorts, toiletries, mosquito repellent, booties or reef shoes (reefs are sharp and we will be riding in them almost every session), a sweatshirt and one set of evening wear. Bring your mask and snorkel. Also – Meercat is a white floating thing on water – both reflect and enhance the sun’s rays! Therefore don’t forget sunscreen, aftersun, sunglasses and if you want to get ahead, bring a hat! No need to bring bath towels – they are provided, but they stay on board! We also have a limited number of Naish beach towels available for you to use.
- What is the food like on Zenith Ocean Voyages? Our style is eclectic Caribbean fusion. To get an idea of what we will cook for you, check out a sample menu. If we catch fish, we’ll adapt the menu so that you get to eat it! We’d appreciate if you’d let us know at the time of confirming your booking if you have any intense dislikes or don’t eat certain foods. Also, desserts are limited – let us know if you have a sweet tooth and we’ll try to make more.
- What if I have special dietary needs? Let us know in the booking enquiry form and we’ll deal with each individual case. We will do our best to accommodate your needs but bear in mind that not all ingredients are easily available in all locations.
- I’m a beer monster. What does “all inclusive” mean in terms of alcohol consumption? We will supply a beverage package included in the fees. We aim to strike a balance between safety, fun and the ultimate kiteadventure. An adequate amount of beer, soft drinks, juices and local liquor is provided. If you feel you need more, you can add to the boat’s supplies upon arrival or during the trip. Let us know upon booking if you don’t drink alcohol or soft drinks so that we can adapt.
- Is the itinerary of each trip fixed? Will I know ahead of time on what day we will be at a given spot? In short, no. The itinerary is adapted for each trip depending on the wind direction and the swell. We will let you know beforehand which spots we are likely to hit, but we may not ride all of them.
- If I fall in love with a spot, can we stay there longer? Yes – as we said above, wind and weather permitting! We will accommodate our guests’ wishes provided they are unanimous.
- Is personal insurance required? Yes, you must obtain personal travel insurance which covers your time on board as well as kiteboarding and other watersport activities you will be involved in. Please note that we may require to see your insurance policy upon boarding.
- Do you have wifi on board? We have a wifi booster antenna. This means that if we are within a few miles from land and there is a wifi network available, you will be able to connect to the internet from your laptop/iphone/etc, but this is in no way guaranteed (welcome to life at sea)!
| -What happens if there is no wind? We’ll be keeping a close eye on the forecast before you arrive and have a briefing when you get on board in terms of alternative activities that may be of interest if there is a chance of no wind. In general, all of our destinations offer great snorkeling and diving opportunities and stunning beaches for swimming and sunbathing, as well as remote, beautiful locations if you’re into photography. We can go wakeboarding and surfing, catch some fresh fish for dinner, go for a sail, hang out and have some brews… Depending on where we are, there’s also stuff to do on land: hiking, mountainbiking, canyoning, rockclimbing and more.
